Keep The Coffee Coming
I need more than fem drippa today (Swedish for 5 drops). It was a very restless night waking often to see if I have the Virus after going to bed with a very – very – slight sore throat! Feel fine today!
I’m not one to panic – actually am known for “closing the door” and walking away from problems to deal with at a more convenient time. But that philosophy applies to unimportant problems – like an overflowing toilet when I need to get out to meet friends for dinner. The overflow will be there when I get back and won’t be any worse for the waiting. And, I’ll be stronger to deal with it after a good dinner and a Lemon Drop Martini.
Close The Door from Inside
But the Virus is a different matter. It’s life-threatening and therefore critically important requiring immediate and constant attention. As the saying goes – “We’re all in this together.” So don’t walk away and close the door. Stay Inside and Close The Door! “Prevention is The Best Medicine!” – another old saying that applies today. Stay at home and start working on all those projects begging for your attention.
When I started – or ReStarted – this blog on Monday, I committed to using my Corona Time (CT) for good! I said I would “FOCUS on all the projects I’ve started over the past forty years.” “I’m going on a strict lifestyle diet eliminating excuses and incorporating purpose, creativity and organization,” I promised on Monday. So I bet you’re wondering how that’s going. Not so good!!! All of my projects are still in the drawers and shoeboxes of life.
So what have I accomplished in the last 4.5 days? Some laundry – tho it’s now on the dining room table waiting to be folded and put away. Paid some bills. Started to organize my desk – piles from the desk are now on the floor. Gave the dogs a bath – tho Sophie immediately rolled in the grass gathering twigs and a variety of virus bugs I’m sure. Much texting and emails and long phone calls with friends near and far who have all moved to the city of Limbo.
Getting Organized
Most importantly, I’ve organized my organization! (It killed time and gave me a sense that I’d done something valuable.) To help keep on track, I created my “Weekly To Do List.” I always feel good when I cross off a chore. It started out pretty simple with just 3 categories (Organize, Create, Chores). Two days later there were 7 categories (Organize, Learn, Move, Create, Connect, Breathe, Chores) with 2 to 5 specifics in each category. The thought was I would do something meaningful in each category each week. That way Corona Time (CT) would have had a benefit. The result – I now feel like an Underachiever, but I’m an Organized Underachiever.
Achievements This Week
Organize: My lovely To Do List!
Learn: I’m learning how to use WordPress for my blog – miles to go!
Move: I’ve done water aerobics in the pool 3 times so far this week. Plus, many dog walks every day.
Connect: I’ve been successful in making a lot of socially distant connections talking to or texting friends I haven’t been in contact with for weeks.
Chores: Dogs had their Spa Day. Laundry washed, dried, waiting for folding. Trip to the bank and bills paid.
Breathe: This category is wanting some attention. A necessity for better sleep. Will work on meditation and reading the book sitting on my nightstand – untouched.
Create: I posted 4 blogs this week! That should count even tho the knitting, and art, and photography, and Swedish Cookbook are crying out for attention. The week isn’t over yet!!!!
