Glass Half Full

Glass Half Full

While I’ve always been a Positive PollyAnna, lately I’ve found an Attitude Adjustment has been necessary. Today is not one of those days. Even without the aid of Rose, a favorite new friend, I’m filled with gratitude and excitement for my current situation.

I’m blessed to live in a sunny, tropical world where I can take walks and burn calories swatting at the mosquitos, gnats and no-seeums while side-stepping around the snakes and poison toads who also love this sunny tropical home. At one with Nature! More good news! It was 83 degrees at 7:00 this morning and will be in the 90s with high humidity. According to Doctor Trump, the Coronavirus will now be dieing off under these ideal conditions of sun, heat and humidity. It’s a good thing.

Liquid Disinfectant – Another Good Thing

I’m also very lucky to have scored a good quantity of liquid bleach, Lysol and Clorox at the beginning of our Month of Hoarding. Initially, I felt threatened because I couldn’t locate the disinfecting wipes at any of the many stores I went to – at great risk of contacting the virus while attempting to wipe it away.

Turns out the liquid disinfectant will be much easier to ingest than the wipes. No matter how hard you might squeeze those wipes you’re not going to get much disinfecting juice. With the liquid Lysol, I can spray or pour the juice into my mouth, nose, ears, and other body orifices, which should go unnamed, to disinfect my body and protect it against the virus – just like I clean and protect the countertops. Who knew? Thanks Dr. Trump for this scientific breakthrough which you presented with great sincerity! Maybe we really won’t need a vaccine after all. Lysol – Its a good thing!

Attitude of Gratitude

On a serious note, I’m grateful for my friends and neighbors who have provided lovely handmade masks – now required for entry into any store or crowded space. I’m grateful for the pool outside my window which keeps my body and mind moving with socially distant water aerobic get-togethers with building-mates. I’m grateful to be in a community of positive neighbors eager to organize a Saturday Sunset Serenade with residents singing from our lanais. We may not be YouTube-worthy but we’re enthusiastic.

I’m grateful for friends, a comfortable home, a well-stocked refrigerator and pantry, personal financial stability, and good health! My glass is full to overflowing.

Share those things that have colored your Attitude of Gratitude in the comment section below. It’s good to voice what makes our life more livable during this Corona Time.
